We have replaced the editor with that a new one that allows a lot more flexibility to the end users. You can re-size the editor window ( by dragging the right hand bottom corner of the editor), edit the HTML code, embed videos and pictures along with a host of other features.
With this new editor in place, probably we would be in a position to finally fix the issues with copy pastes in the posts.
In case, you still face any issues while trying to post on the site, please let us know.
-Regards,
cplash Team

We were going full throttle but bugs in the implementation have hit us. We in the development team were using Firefox mostly for our testing while most of our registered users seem use IE instead of Firefox. This has resulted in some major issues with the Editor that we have in place right now especially when we copy paste stuff into the editor.
We have decided to overhaul our editor completely and come up with an editor that suits our registered users. This new editor should be up soon when we can again go ahead with our further development.
Sorry to our users for the inconvenience caused.
-Regards,
BBM

This is the first weekend since the alpha release of cplash.com and we have fixed the images/video issue that we were facing on the posts.
Also some enhancements in the editor have been put in place - it now supports Smileys and embedded tags for videos.
The strength of the community of our users in the first week of its release stands at 32 and we have attracted 18 posts in the first week of our formal existence.
This, we hope is just the start of the journey!

This is really turning out to be a learning curve for me! Got registered at an online Project Management site Comindwork. The site provides some really cool online and free Project Management solution ( though restricted in disk usage) especially helpful for new startups like ours. It just takes two minutes to get started and has a good looking user Interface.Though this is just our first day at the site, so far the site has run smoothly and we have been able to get what we were looking for!
Apart from that some users have started to register at cplash. Need to put up a FAQ soon to help answer the queries on the users ! And our CTO is really doing a great job of churning out code fast and getting rid of the bugs. The gal is going all guns blazing…the details cannot be divulged here due to “strategic” reasons [:p]
I guess thats all for an update today!
-Regards,
BBM.

Every programming language that you learn probably starts off with a “Hello World!” program and since this venture is a result of a couple of IT guys coming in contact with a journalist gal, we would start off with a Hello World post as a tribute to our origin ( since this post is being written by one of the IT guys).
What is cplash.com?
Cplash.com is a citizen journalism site and aims to emerge as a platform between the citizen and the media. The name is derived from –citizen and splash, meaning front page news, and shall feature stories that you – ‘the citizen’ shall highlight.
Cplash.com has a simple aim: to present the voice of ‘we, the people’ to everyone. A platform where citizens can express, share and discuss their views and opinions about any issue that they feel about. Cplash will provide a platform where citizens can network and collaborate together to come up with a better society.
The Team
We are 3 guys and 1 gal driving us guys literally to meet the deadlines and come up with a quality product. Two of the guys are “supposed” to be busy doing coding stuff for this site, I , henceforth to be referred to as the BBM, am supposed to assume a techno-managerial role while the gal, is supposed to be our SME into the world of media.
Probably you all would be able to recognize each of us distinctly by the writing style of the individuals as when all the members of the team start posting their experiences here.
Experience so far…..hang on ..this is supposed to be a short and sweet “Hello World” post…so let me save the rest for future posts.
Before I sign off, let me welcome everybody to cplash.com. Your reviews and suggestions are sincerely requested in our endeavored to up with a quality website.
Thanks and Regards,
-BBM
